I often see the benefits of fish oils touted on TV and online, and now that I am at school, fish is a non-existent part of my diet. I was attracted to the NOW Cod Liver Oil due to its low price. It's hard to say how much of a benefit I've had from this product, as its main claim is reduction of the risk of coronary disease. However, it's never a bad thing to add some healthy fatty acids to your diet, and at this price, there seems to be little risk involved.
I love this product. Cod liver oil really helped my skin and it as also significantly helped my immune system while still delivering the DHA's and EPA's that I need. I usually take 2-3 a day and there are little to no side effects of cod liver oil. I also noticed my bi-polar symptoms tuned down... stuff I used to get mad at I wont anymore..My whole family notices. I also noticed my concentration at work has gone up and Im overall more happier and healthier. I was going to get divorced to my wife but I think that cod liver oil has helped me become a nicer person and Im not getting divorced anymore. I recommend this product to anyone who is looking to become a more healthier person.
These are just some of the benefits of cod live oil:
* Healthy skin
* Strong bones and teeth
* Healthy joints
* A healthy cardiovascular system
* A healthy nervous system and prevention of depression and other mood disorders
* A healthy lining for your digestive tract
I always used to catch the flu in the winter months and it used to put me out of action completely for at least 3 days, if not longer. My flus were always characterised by extreme joint pain, upset stomach, high fever and general weakness and malaise. In other words really quite unpleasant. As of two years ago - upon recommendation of a pharmacist who I know - I started to take cod liver oil tablets. Whenever anybody hears the word "cod liver oil" they always think of a dark foul-tasting oil which their parents used to force them to take as a child. Well things are very different when taking capsules - you don't taste a thing, although admittedly once it gets to your stomach you might occasionally belch up minute quantities of it. Never mind. Anyway - onto the good stuff - since starting consumption of cod liver oil capsules I've not had the flu. I regard this as a near miracle. I strongly feel that it aids the immune system. I still get the occasional cold, but never anything more than a very minor cold which goes away quickly. I only take the stuff in the winter months when the weather is cold. From what I read the immune system benefits are from the Vitamin D which isn't readily available in most people's diets, although it is produced naturally by the body upon exposure to sunlight. Thus I don't really need to take it outside of winter since I live in a basically warm sunny climate. It is fairly cheap and readily available and I highly recommend it.
